1948 ஆம் ஆண்டு திரு. இஸ்ரேல் உபாத்தியாயர் மேற்பார்வையில் அவர்களது தவப்புதல்வி திருமதி. வி. ஆர். பேசிங்கர் அவர்களால் நேரு ஆரம்பப் பாடசாலை என்ற பெயரில் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்டது . 125 மாணவர்களுடன் 4 ஆசிரியர்களைக் கொண்டு ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட இப்பள்ளி, மறைந்த நம் மாபெரும் தலைவர் திரு. காமராஜர் அவர்களின் கல்வித்தொண்டின் பிரதிபலிப்பாய் நேரு வித்தியாசாலை என்று 1954 - ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 21 - ஆம் நாள் பெயரிடப்பட்டது.
தற்போது 845 மாணவ, மாணவிகளுடன் ஒன்று முதல் ஐந்து வகுப்பு வரை நேரு வித்தியாசாலை ஆரம்பப்பள்ளியாகவும் ,1652 மாணவ,மாணவிகளுடன் ஆறு முதல் பன்னிரெண்டாம் வகுப்பு வரை நேரு வித்தியாசாலை மேனிலைப் பள்ளியாகவும் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது.நேரு கல்விச் சங்கமானது மாணவர்களின் அனைத்து தேவைகளையும் மிகுந்த சிரத்தையுடன் பூர்த்தி செய்து தொண்டாற்றி வருகிறது.
'கேடில் விழுச்செல்வம் கல்வி' என்னும் உயரிய இலக்கினைக் கொண்டு கல்வித்தொண்டு ஆற்றி வரும் எம் பள்ளி சிறப்பான எதிர்காலத்தை மாணவர்களுக்கு உருவாக்கிட முனைப்புடன் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது.
நன்னெறி கல்வி:
'ஒழுக்கம் உயிரினும் ஓம்பப்படும் ' எனும் வள்ளுவரின் வாக்கை கருத்திற்கொண்டு , மாணவர்களை நல்வழியில் செலுத்த நன்னெறிக்கல்வி போதிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
தளிர்த்திறன் கல்வி:
மாணவரின் முழு ஆளுமைத் திறனை வளர்க்கும் வகையில் தளிர்த்திறன் கல்வியின் கீழ் பல்வேறு செயல்பாடுகள் செய்யப்படுகின்றன.
பொது அறிவு வகுப்பு:
வளர்ந்து வரும் போட்டி உலகின் சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்ளும் திறம் பெற்றவர்களாக, வெற்றி வாகை சூடுபவர்களாக எம் மாணவர்கள் விளங்க வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்குடன் பொது அறிவு வகுப்பு நடத்தப்படுகிறது.
ஹிந்தி:
இந்தியர் என்ற உணர்வு மேலோங்க நமது தேசிய மொழியான ஹிந்தியில் வாசிக்க, எழுத, பேச பயிற்சிகள் அளிக்கப்படுகின்றன. ஐந்தாம் வகுப்பில் மாணவர்கள் பரிக்ஷயா தேர்வு எழுதவும், வெற்றி பெறவும் ஆவன செய்யப்பட்டு வருகின்றது.
அபாகஸ்:
கணிதத்தை கற்கண்டாய் தித்திப்பாக்கிட அபாகஸ் 3-ஆம் வகுப்பு முதல் கற்பிக்கப்படுகிறது.
ஸ்மார்ட் வகுப்பறை :
கற்பிக்கப்படும் பாடங்களை வாரம் ஒருமுறை ஸ்மார்ட் வகுப்பறையில் ஒலி -ஒளி காட்சிகளாக காண்பிக்கப்பட்டு பாடப்பொருள் நன்கு மாணவர்களின் மனதில் பதிய வைக்கப்படுகிறது.
தொழில்நுட்பம் வழி கற்பித்தல் :
புரிதலை மேம்படுத்தும் வகையில் படங்கள், மாதிரிகள், இயங்கு மாதிரிகள் போன்ற கற்றல் உபகரணங்களுடனும் மற்றும் மடிக்கணினி மூலமும் கற்பித்தல் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்று வருகிறது.
Spoken English:
ஆங்கிலத்தில் சரளமாகப் பேச Spoken English கற்பிக்கப்படுகிறது. மேலும் ஒவ்வொரு வாரமும் புதன் கிழமை அன்று ஆங்கிலத்தில் இறை வழிபாட்டுக் கூட்டம் நடத்தப்படுகிறது. அன்று முழுவதும் மாணவர்கள் ஆங்கிலத்தில் உரையாட ஊக்குவிக்கப்படுகின்றனர்.
சிறப்பு பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள் :
அனைத்து வகுப்பிலும் மெல்ல மலரும் மாணவர்களின் நலனுக்காக மாலை வேளையில் பயிற்சி வகுப்புகள் நடைபெறுகின்றன.
பெற்றோரின் பங்கு:
மாணவர்களின் ஒழுக்கம்,கல்வி,பள்ளியின் முன்னேற்றம் குறித்து பெற்றோரின் கருத்துக்களைப் பெற ஆலோசனைப் பெட்டி வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. பெற்றோரின் கருத்துக்கள் பெறப்பட்டு கவனத்திற்கொண்டு திட்டங்கள் வகுக்கப்பட்டு சிறப்புடன் கல்வித் தொண்டாற்றி வருகிறது.
எமது பள்ளியில் அனுபவமிக்க, திறமையான 40 அரசு உதவி பெறும் ஆசிரியர்களும், 2 காவலரும், 2 துப்புரவு பணியாளர்களும் பணியாற்றி வருகின்றனர்.
விசாலமான வகுப்பறைகள்:
70 ஆண்டுகளாக நரிமேடு பகுதியில் கல்விப்பணி ஆற்றிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் எம் பள்ளியில் விசாலமான காற்றோட்ட வசதியும், வெளிச்சமும் நிறைந்த வகுப்பறைகள் அமைந்துள்ளன.

மாணவர்களுக்கும், மாணவிகளுக்கும் தனித்தனியே சுகாதாரமான கழிவறைகள் அமைந்துள்ளன.

மாணவர் தம் திறன்களை வெளிப்படுத்த ஏதுவாக பிரம்மாண்டமான திறந்த வெளி கலை அரங்கம் அமைந்துள்ளது.
விளையாட்டு மைதானம்:
உடல் வலிமை, குழு மனப்பான்மை, விதிகளை பின்பற்றுதல் ஆகியவற்றை மேம்படுத்த ஏதுவாக பரந்த விளையாட்டு மைதானம் அமைந்துள்ளது.
கேண்டீன்:
மாணவர் நலன் கருதி சுகாதாரமான கேண்டீன் இயங்கி வருகிறது .
CCTV & RO வசதி:
பள்ளி வளாகம் முழுவதும் CCTV கண்காணிப்புக் கேமராக்கள் பொருத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.மேலும் பாதுகாப்பான RO குடிநீர் வசதியும் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
பள்ளி வாகன வசதி:
நகரின் பிற பகுதியிலிருந்து மாணவர்கள் பள்ளிக்கு வந்து செல்ல ஏதுவாக பள்ளி வாகன வசதி செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
புல்-புல் இயக்கம்:
எம் பள்ளி மாணவர்களிடையே சமூகப் பொறுப்பு மற்றும் நாட்டு நலத்தின்மீது அக்கறையை வளர்க்கும் வகையில் புல்-புல் இயக்கம் சிறப்பாக செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றது.
உடற்பயிற்சி:
மாணவர்களது ஆரோக்கியத்தின் மீது அக்கறை கொண்டு தினமும் காலையில் எளிய உடற்பயிற்சிகள் செய்ய வைக்கப்படுகின்றனர். இந்த உடற்பயிற்சிகள் உடலுக்கு வலு சேர்ப்பதோடு மாணவர்கள் நாள் முழுவதும் உற்சாகமாய் கற்றலில் ஈடுபட ஏதுவாக உள்ளன.
போட்டிகள்:
மாணவருக்குள்ளே புதைந்திருக்கும் தனித்திறன்களைக் கண்டறிந்து அத்திறமைகளை மெருகூட்டும் வகையில் திறனறி போட்டிகள்,கல்வி வளர்ச்சி நாள் போட்டிகள், குழந்தைகள் தினவிழா போட்டிகள் நடத்தப்பட்டு பரிசுகள் வழங்கப்படுகின்றன. மேலும் கல்வித்துறையின் சார்பிலும், தனியார் நிறுவனங்களின் சார்பிலும் நடத்தப்படும் போட்டிகளிலும் மாணவர்கள் பங்குபெற்று பரிசுகள் பெற சிறப்பு முயற்சிகள் எடுக்கப்படுகின்றன. இந்த ஆண்டில் நடைபெற்ற வட்டார அளவிலான போட்டிகளில் எம் பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் 5 பரிசுகளை வென்று பள்ளிக்கு பெருமை சேர்த்தனர்.
திருக்குறள் தேர்வு:
ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் உலகத் திருக்குறள் பேரவை நடத்தும் திருக்குறள் தேர்வில் எம் பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் மாநில அளவிலும், மாவட்ட அளவிலும் சிறப்பான இடங்களை பிடித்து வருகின்றனர். சென்ற கல்வி ஆண்டில் நடத்தப்பட்ட திருக்குறள் தேர்வில் எம் பள்ளியின் 4 ஆம் வகுப்பு மாணவி ஜெ.ஜோதிகா மாநில அளவில் முதலிடம் பெற்று பள்ளிக்குப் பெருமை சேர்த்துள்ளார்.
அறிவியல் கண்காட்சி:
மாணவர்களின் அறிவியல் மனப்பான்மையை வளர்க்கும் விதமாக ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் அறிவியல் கண்காட்சி நடத்தப்படுகிறது. அக்கண்காட்சியில் மாணவர்கள் தங்கள் அறிவியல் படைப்புகளை காட்சிப்படுத்தி பரிசுகளை தட்டிச் செல்கின்றனர். மேலும் வட்டார அளவிலான அறிவியல் கண்காட்சியில் எம் பள்ளி 'சிறந்த பள்ளி' என்ற பட்டத்தினை தக்க வைத்துள்ளது.
பெற்றோர் - ஆசிரியர் கூட்டம்:
மேலும் ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் பெற்றோர் ஆசிரியர் விழா நடத்தப்பட்டு கல்வியில் சிறந்து விளங்கும் மாணவர்களுக்கு பரிசுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டு ஊக்கப்படுத்தப்படுகின்றனர். மேலும் பெற்றோர் - ஆசிரியர் கூட்டம் நடத்தப்பட்டு பள்ளியின் வளர்ச்சிக்குரிய காரியங்கள் குறித்து கலந்துரையாடப்படுகிறது.
குறுந்தகவல் வசதிகள்:
தினமும் மாணவர்கள் வீட்டில் செய்ய வேண்டிய வீட்டுப்பாடம் பெற்றோரின் கைப்பேசிக்கு குறுந்தகவல் செய்தியாகத் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டு மாணவர்களை வீட்டுப்பாடங்களை செய்ய ஊக்கப்படுத்துகிறோம்.மேலும் மாணவர்களின் கல்வித்திறன், வருகை, ஒழுங்கீன செயல்கள் ஆகியவற்றை உடனடியாகக் குறுந்தகவல் செய்தியாகப் பெற்றோருக்குத் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகிறது.
1 முதல் 5 ஆம் வகுப்பு வரை சேர்க்கை நடைபெறுகிறது .சேர்க்கைக் கட்டணம் இல்லை. அசல் பிறப்பு சான்றிதழ் /மாற்றுச்சான்றிதழ் கொண்டு வர வேண்டும்.

Our School - A glimpse of our history:
Our school has been founded by Mrs. V.R. Basinger under the supervision of Mr. Israel Ubathyayar . Our school which was started with 125 students and four teachers has got a new outlook with the new name as Nehru Vidhyasalai reflecting the valuable contribution of the Ex. Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Mr. Kamaraj.
At present our school has registered 845 students in primary level and 1652 students at the higher secondary level.

Value education:
To find and flourish the innate potentials of our children, our school focuses on the value oriented education system administered and assisted by trained faculty members for the overall personality development of our kids.
GK:
To cater to the needs of the competitive world GK classes are conducted as a part of the regular academic stream to enrich knowledge and presence of mind as well.
Hindi classes:
To inculcate the sense of belonging to mother India, practice classes for spoken and written are offered. Efforts are taken to prepare the children for Hindi exams like ‘Parichaya’ even at 5th standard level.
Abacus:
To make maths learning easy, interesting and innovative Abacus classes are conducted with the trained professionals .
Smart Class:
We know "To see is to believe". Children are offered Smart class atmosphere with audio video aids for a better understanding the lessons taught in the classrooms.
Technical Education:
To enhance the understanding of lesson live examples, working models, 3D samples, maps and charts are used in the class. Laptop also plays a role as a teaching aid.
Spoken English
As English has become inevitable communicative tool, children are taught Spoken English and public speaking practice. Students are encouraged to converse in English on Wednesdays, as it is followed as “Spoken English Day”.
Special Class:
As the learning ability differs from child to child, the late bloomers are given special care and concern in the evening classes.
Attention to Parents’ Participation:
Parents support plays a significant role in the children's academics and moral development and the school's development as well. Suggestion boxes are kept at the reception to receive the suggestion and ideas of the parents and to resolve the issues, if any.
Bulbul:
An effective Bulbul movement of our school aims at our students social and national responsibilities.
Exercise:
To promote the health of our children, they are engaged in doing physical exercises in the morning. This leads them to involve in learning enthusiastically..
Competitions:
Every child is born talented. Our school conducts as many competitions as possible on special occasions like Education Development Day, Children's day, Sports day, etc. offering chances for our kids to bring out the talents and embellish them day by day . Children are encouraged to take part in various competitions conducted by Education Department and other private institutions in which five of our students won laurels at the regional level and added feathers to our cap.
Thirukural Exam:
Our school always aims at the linguistic excellence especially our mother tongue Tamil. Constant encouragement is given to prepare and practice for Thirukkural exams. Many children have gained special places at district and state level among whom J.Jothika of 4th standard won the first place at the state level.
Science Exhibition:
Attending to the scientific demands of our children science exhibitions are conducted every year in which our children take part enthusiastically exhibiting their projects and models which attract the attention of other schools too. No wonder our School retains the title “The Best School” at the regional level.
PTA meets:
Working together is an easy way for success. So our school is ever ready to join hands with parents. PTA meets are conducted in regular intervals. Queries and suggestions of the parents are attended with utmost sincerity and valuable suggestions are taken into account at once for the upliftment of our school. SMS facility:
Home works are well planned and intimated to the parents through SMS to the noted numbers of the parents. Disciplinary measures, punctuality, academic efficiency and irregularity of the children are immediately passed to the parents’ notice for the immediate response to attend the issues, if any.
Admissions are going on for classes 1 to 5. No admission fee is collected. Original birth certificate or transfer certificate should be produced for admission.
