எம் பள்ளி 1948 ம் ஆண்டு பல கிறித்தவ கல்வி நிறுவனங்களை ஆரம்பித்த கனம் கேட்டி வில்காக்ஸ் அம்மையார் அவர்களுடைய முயற்சியால் திரு இஸ்ரேல் உபாத்தியாயர் அவர்களின் மேற்பார்வையில் அவர்களது புதல்வி திருமதி. வேதவல்லி ராஜா பேசிங்கர் அவர்களால் "நேரு ஆரம்பப் பாடசாலை" என்ற பெயரில் ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்டது. 125 மாணவர்களையும், 4 ஆசிரியர்களையும் கொண்டு ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட எம்பள்ளி மறைந்த நம் மாபெரும் தலைவர் முன்னாள் தமிழக முதல்வர் திரு. காமராஜர் அவர்களின் கல்வித் தொண்டு பிரதிபலிப்பால் "நேரு வித்தியாசாலை" என்று 1954 ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 21 ஆம் நாள் பெயரிடப்பட்டது. 1954ஆம் ஆண்டு நடுநிலைப்பள்ளியாகி, மேலும் உயர்ந்து 1986ஆம் ஆண்டு உயர்நிலைப் பள்ளியாகவும், 2006 ஆம் ஆண்டு மேனிலைப்பள்ளியாகவும் உயர்த்தப்பட்டது. 1 முதல் 5 வகுப்பு வரை நேரு வித்தியாசாலை ஆரம்பப் பள்ளியாக நரிமேடு பகுதியிலும், 6 முதல் 12 ஆம் வகுப்பு வரை நேரு வித்தியாசாலை மேல்நிலைப்பள்ளியாக கோசாகுளம் வேதவல்லி நகர் பகுதியிலும் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது.
'கேடில் விழுச்செல்வம் கல்வி' என்னும் வள்ளுவரின் வாக்கை இலக்காகக் கொண்டு கடந்த 70 ஆண்டுகளாக எம் பள்ளி கல்விச் சேவை செய்து வருகிறது. 2001ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் தமிழ் வழிக் கல்வியில் பிளஸ் 1 மற்றும் பிளஸ் 2 வகுப்புகள் சுயநிதிப் பிரிவாக செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றது. மேலும் 2003 - 2004 கல்வி ஆண்டில் தொடங்கப் பெற்ற ஆங்கில வழி கல்வியானது தற்பொழுது 12 ஆம் வகுப்பு வரை சுயநிதிப் பிரிவாக செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது. நேரு கல்விச் சங்கத்தினரால் திறம்பட நிர்வகிக்கப்படும் அரசு உதவிபெறும் கிறித்தவ சிறுபான்மை நிறுவனமான எம் மேல் நிலைப் பள்ளியில் 1351 மாணவர்களும் 290 மாணவிகளுமாக மொத்தம் 1641 பேர் பயிலுகின்றனர்.

With the untiring efforts of Her Highness Katie Wilcox who established many Christian academic institutions, our school was founded by Mrs. Vedhavalli Raja Basinger under the guidance of Mr. Israel Ubathyayar, with the name of Nehru Primary School, our service started with 125 students and teachers. As the reflection of the academic service of our Ex. Chief Minister of TamilNadu, , Mr. Kamarajar our school was bestowed with the new name as “Nehru Vidhyasalai” on 21st November, 1954. Our school was upgraded as a middle school in 1954, high school in 1986 and higher secondary school in 2001. At present, the primary section functions at Narimedu and the higher classes function at Kosakulam Vedhavalli Nagar.
Our school is rendering academic services for 70 years with the sublime attitude “Education is the priceless and eternal wealth” . +1 and +2 classes through Tamil medium are functioning as the self financing wing. The education stream through English medium which was started in 2003 - 2004 functions as self financing wing upto +2 now. Our school, a minority institution is aided by the Tamilnadu Government and administered by Nehru Educational Society has the enrolment of 1641 students which includes 1351 boys and 290 girls.

Our school teachers and students join hands together in establishing and functioning a ‘Charity Club’ that spot out economically downtrodden students and fulfil their basic needs to continue their education pressure free.
Parents Teachers Meet:
Individual Parents Teachers Meet for the students of class 6 to 12 are conduted in regular intervals to receive the suggestions and to solve the issues, if any, for the upgradation of the educational development.
Social awareness weeks:
As students are the responsible citizens of tomorrow, they are engaged social activities too to create a social awareness among themselves and to have a harmonious rapport with the society. Our school holds the “one week programmes” like

and the concerned elements are focused for a better social order.
Life skills education:
As education doesn't stop with classrooms alone, students of classes 6 to 9 are given ‘Life skills Education’ as

• gardening (which is carried out using natural manure in the morning and evening with the guidance of teachers)

Working together is an easy way for success. So our school is ever ready to join hands with parents. PTA meets are conducted in regular intervals. Queries and suggestions of the parents are attended with utmost sincerity and valuable suggestions are taken into account at once for the upliftment of our school. The best students of different fields are awarded and rewarded in those PTA junctions.
